Grizzly Industrial Recalls Bandsaws Due To Shock Hazard

Grizzly Industrial announced a voluntary recall of 500 Bandsaws because some do not have a grounding wire installed, which poses a shock hazard to users.

To this date, the company has not received any incident and/or injury reports linked to the recalled items.

The recall involves the G0640X 17-inch metal/wood bandsaw with an inverter motor. The product’s model number (G0640X) is printed on the front of the machine.

Consumers should contact Grizzly to request a free repair kit if one is not sent to them. In the meantime, to prevent injury, the bandsaws should not be used.

Fluke Recalls Digital Clamp Meters

Fluke Corp., in conjunction it the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of more than 52,000 Fluke Digital Clamp Meters.

The meters can fail to give a correct voltage reading, which can result in the user falsely believing the power is off, posing a shock, electrocution or thermal burn hazard.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injury but has received three reports of the meters displaying an incorrect voltage reading.

The recall involves Fluke Digital Clamp Meters with the model and serial numbers listed below. The model number may be followed by an “A.”

The meters were sold nationwide by Industrial distributors, electrical wholesalers and some hardware stores from January 2008 through February 2009.
