Manhattan Group, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is voluntarily recalling Groovy Fashions Sassy Jammies Doll Clothing Sets.

The surface paint on the pajama pants contains excessive levels of lead, a violation of the federal lead paint standard.

Exposure to lead can cause brain and kidney damage, especially in young children. The symptoms of lead poisoning include nausea, headaches, constipation, seizures, and coma.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injury.

The recalled doll clothing set features a two-piece pajama set, eye mask and slippers. The pajama top is pink satin and the pants are dark brown with multiple-colored flowers printed on them.

The agency advises consumers to take the recalled product away from small children immediately and to return them to the store of purchase for store credit or a refund.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, consumers can directly contact Manhattan Group at (800) 541-1345 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.manhattantoy.com
