Frigidaire, in cooperation with the CPSC, is recalling clothes washers sold under the Crosley, Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Kenmore, Wascomat and White-Westinghouse brand names due to an internal defect in the drain pump that can cause heat to build, posing a fire hazard.

To date, there have been no incidents/reports of injury associated with this recall.

A complete list of brand names, model numbers and serial numbers to help you determine if you have a recalled washer can be found on the CSPC Web site.

Consumers should unplug and stop using the recalled machines and contact Frigidaire or Sears to schedule a free repair.

Consumer Contact: For more information, contact Frigidaire at (800) 734-4519 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET Monday through Saturday, or visit www.laundrypumprecall.com.

For consumers who purchased their washing machine at Sears, should call Sears toll free at (888) 549-5870 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET Monday through Saturday, or visit www.sears.com
