A 20-year-old Ohio man died at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, on Sunday, from injuries he suffered in a car accident that happened several days ago. The accident is still under investigation.
On June 6, he was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger, northbound on Ohio 49, when he swerved to the left and went off the road hitting a ditch and driving through a yard. His vehicle sideswiped a tree before crashing into another tree head-on. The man was trapped inside the vehicle while rescue worked to free him.
He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he remained until his death on Sunday.
This is the second fatality on Darke County roads this year. The first accident occurred on the same day when a 21-year-old bicyclist was killed in an accident on Ohio 571.
