A Dayton man, 40, suffered severe head trauma in a car accident this morning, when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the porch of a house on Troy Street.

The accident is under investigation as experts work to reconstruct the chain of events that led up to the crash. At this time police believe he was travelling at a high rate of speed when he left the road and slammed into the house.

Ambulance crews treated him at the scene for what appeared to be life-threatening trauma to his head. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital.

The house porch appears to be unstable and will most likely need to be removed from the house.
