A man was transported by care flight to Miami Valley Hospital after overturning his vehicle in a car accident near the 21-mile marker on eastbound I-70, according to police in Clay Township.

The accident happened just before 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. According to police, the man had to be pulled from the vehicle and he is now listed in serious condition at the hospital. Officials have not yet released the man’s name.

Police believe speed may have been a factor in the accident. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.

The eastbound lanes of I-70 were shut down for nearly two hours as officials cleared the scene.
