An Ohio Department of Transportation ODOT driver suffered injuries in a truck accident on northbound Ohio 4 Friday morning, according to Dayton police.

The road was closed from 8:15 a.m. to just after 10:30 a.m.

The ODOT pickup truck was traveling slowly along the shoulder of the highway when a second truck loaded with concrete blocks ran into the rear of ODOT truck, the officer said.

The impact of the crash knocked the blocks onto the highway, forcing police to shut down those lanes on Ohio 4 until the debris could be removed.

The trapped ODOT worker was freed by rescue workers within 30 minutes following the crash and the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
