A person was speeding down North Main Street at 100 miles per hour when they lost control of the vehicle and wrapped around a utility pole on North Main Street, according to Dayton Police.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to break in three pieces.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where that person’s condition is currently unknown. The passenger, 27, of Dayton, was killed in the car accident that happened just after 3:00 a.m., said police.

“I looked up he was coming down Main Street and he lost control of the vehicle,” said a witness to the accident.

The accident occurred in front of a 24-hour daycare and the workers inside heard the collision. They were shocked when they went outside to see what the noise was.
