Ohio University student was killed Saturday night in a pedestrian accident when he was struck by an SUV and thrown into a river. Witness indicated that the SUV skipped onto the sidewalk and struck the victom as he was crossing the hocking river bridge.

Witnesses were unaware that a pedestrian had been struck, Gray said. The bridge has lights, but not directly in the area of the accident, he said.

Authorities responding to a report of a body floating in the river pulled Singh to the shore Sunday afternoon about a half-mile east of the bridge.

Forensic evidence, including tail light glass on Singh's clothing, led investigators to conclude that Singh had been hit by the SUV, Gray said. The body was transferred Monday to the Montgomery County coroner's office in Dayton, where an autopsy will try to determine if Singh was killed by the impact or if he drowned, Gray said.

Police have not yet determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash. The driver of the SUV received minor injuries in the wreck.
